Description

Judges, Chapter 6 tells us the story of when God put the Israelites under the captivity of the Midianites as a result of their sin of idolatry. They were oppressed for seven years and were hiding in caves, mountains, and other strongholds. When the Israelites would plant their crops the raiders from Midian, Amalek and other people from the East would attack Israel and take their crops and livestock. These raiders would arrive on camels and stay until the land was completely ravaged. The Israelites were left impoverished and with nothing to eat. Their lives were a wreck. They were down and out with no hope. But God responded to their cry for help and raised up Gideon as a judge to deliver them.
