Juliana Riotto is an 87kg weightlifter who competes for Team USA and Catalyst Athletics. She was recruited to weightlifting after winning a clean & jerk event in the 2015 CrossFit Open. Since then, she has competed internationally for Team USA multiple times. Some achievements include medals at Jr. Worlds, Jr. Pan Ams, and Jr. Lifter of the Year in 2018.
On the show, we got into Juliana's transition into weightlifting. She grew up with hopes of playing soccer in the Olympics, but transitioned when she realized that weightlifting was a more likely ticket to the games. You'll hear that her story is shaped by much more than lifting weights.
