Beardsley holds an MFA in Writing and Poetics with a concentration in poetry from the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics (Naropa University) and a certificate in publishing from the Denver Publishing Institute (University of Denver). She is a PhD candidate in Rhetoric and Writing Studies at the University of Oklahoma where her research focuses on food and cookbooks as multimodal, collaboratively written community texts; digital and community literacy; the rhetoric of food; and feminist rhetoric. She also works as the Assistant Director of Technical Writing and Communication, teaches technical writing, and is an assistant editor of Kairos: A Journal of Rhetoric, Technology, and Pedagogy.
