Did you know the words justice and righteousness go hand in hand in the Bible? We often think they’re two separate subjects, but they are deeply intertwined. Righteousness can seem so behavioral, and justice so activist but they're significantly more nuanced and connected. In our polarized world, it is easy to live in a "us" and "them" world, a world where we don’t cross paths with people that don’t look like us, sound like us or have the same economic status as we do. God had a different plan-a plan where paths cross and our hearts are deeply drawn to justice and righteousness for all people.
Michael J Rhodes is the author of “Just Discipleship.” In this recently released book, he explores how justice permeates the Bible and how this applies to our current context. Michael’s book is highly accessible, and deeply theological in its approach. Check out this week’s podcast as Elliot and Michael explore this ancient and current subject.
