TEXT(S): 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Acts 6:1-6.

• No matter where you serve in church, you are to maintain the consciousness that you're to represent JESUS here on Earth.
PURPOSES FOR STUDYING THE BIBLE
• For edification.
• To build up your faith. (Romans 10:17; Hebrews 11:11).
• For defense.
• To equip you in character deficiency.
• The bible is likened to a sword but it's not for the hand but for the mouth.
• For successful Christian living. (Psalms 1:1-6; Joshua 1:8).
• For effective witnessing.
THINGS TO DO BEFORE STUDYING THE BIBLE EFFECTIVELY
1. Accept the bible as being true.
2. Use the scripture to interprete scriptures not life events.
3. The use of multiple translations is also important.
4. Be careful to note that the bible is not written after the doctrine of men but by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
5. Note also that prayers would help you but word study and prayer together would keep you.
