It would do us well to think about Jesus’ birth every day of the year. 2000+ years ago God took on flesh and became human like us. Yet he was also unlike us in that he remained God. Because he is God, Jesus lived a perfect life and never sinned. Because he became human, he was qualified to be a sacrifice for us humans and pay the debt our sin has incurred. He “came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45). In Christ, our sins are forgiven, we have a Savior who has walked a mile in our shoes and will always be with us. That’s something to be mindful of every day of the year.
