At this week's Round Table, Divya, Inica, Isaiah, Madeline, and Olivia spoke with Zoli Hajnalprofessor of political science at the UC San Diego’s School of Global Policy and Strategy. Professor Hajnal is the author of multiple award-winning books and a respected scholar on U.S. politics and policy, with a special focus on how disadvantaged populations are represented in American politics and what can be done to ensure better representation of these groups. Our conversation touched upon why people vote in such low numbers in municipal elections--and what can be done to counteract that, what reforms can lead to more equitable distribution of resources and opportunities, the record high youth voter and overall voter turnout this election--and how and whether it can be sustained, and what voter reforms we’d all like to see in the future. Thanks for listening!
