This movie is a switch-up on the western genre. Taylor Sheridan created a beautiful modern day telling of the familiar Cops and Robbers story we all know. The reasons each party has, driving their decision making in this movie, are reasons we can understand. Putting the audience in a heightened emotional space, as we want to see the cops and the robbers succeed at their job; but only one can win. This movie is so unique, and remains in my top 5 favorite movies of all time.
