Listen

Description

What’s up, listeners, Candace and Ariel coming at you from K-NYFG with several important questions: Have we given enough consideration to these two gnarly backwoods family horror movies? Did the tragically and fantastically Reagan-era Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986) really let down the legacy of its predecessor? Is the murder in the outback in Storm Warning (2007) such a pale imitation of Wolf Creek? Is radio DJ the ideal final girl career path? Can you talk about a five-minute short film without completely spoiling it? We went there, listeners, so you don’t have to.

Come through the perfectly normal, not made of bones bead curtain, and let’s talk about two misunderstood films. We’ll also discuss the finer points of corpse masks, two amazing final girl performances, Texas chainsaw shopping, the relationship between horror and parody, and why you should thank creators for shitting on you as a fan. Just don’t ask about the guts oozing out of a hole in the wall.

We are solo this episode, so no guest bios, but do check out Wellness Check (2021) by Andrew Jara, a great short film about trying to date during quarantine. :( Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpQYm_soQaI&ab_channel=AndrewJara
