Anthony Poole is a family medicine Physician Assistant who has been treating adult and pediatric patients in South Carolina since his graduation from MUSC's PA Program in 2009. He has spent most of his early career focused on rural health and providing care to underserved communities across the state. He is passionate about health equity and ensuring that all patients receive high quality healthcare. Clinically, he focuses on preventing chronic disease through lifestyle and behavior changes and involves patients in their plan of care.
Anthony was recognized as the South Carolina Provider of the Year in 2020 by the SC Primary Health Care Association and as one of Charleston's Forty Under 40 Professionals in 2020. In September of 2022, he graduated from a doctoral program through the University of Lynchburg earning his Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) degree.
In addition to his clinical duties, Mr. Poole also serves as MUSC's System Director for Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement. In this role, he works under the leadership of MUSC's Chief Quality Officer to ensure that all patients at MUSC receive high quality healthcare services in an environment that is safe and patient centered.
