The Père Lachaise Cemetery is the largest cemetery in Paris. Founded in 1802, it is the most visited necropolis in the world (literally over 3.5 million people visit annually). There are over 300,000 people buried here, and amongst them, there are many prominent historical figures such as Edith Pilaf, Oscar Wilde, Marcel Proust, Gertrude Stein, Pissaro and Chopin. Due to health concerns regarding corpses contaminating the central water supply, many bodies were relocated to the cemetery from where they were already buried, which is probably the cause of many spooky happenings at the Père Lachaise...
We hope you join us this week for a spooky cemetery story 👻
Stay safe out there
With love,
