Hellfire Club was a name for several exclusive clubs for high-society rakes established in Britain and Ireland in the 18th century. And while the club may seem like the dark academia fantasy society of your dreams, the club was actually pretty scary - dabbling in the dark arts (of course), devil worship, animal sacrifice, and drinking questionable alcoholic drinks. At the top of Montpelier Hill sits a hunting lodge constructed in the early 1700s that was one of the many locations that the Hellfire club in Ireland used - but this one is particularly haunted. From tales of the Devil stopping by to demonic cat possession to poltergeist activity, the house has had its share of paranormal events.
