Not everything is what it seems. For a very vague sentence, films can have this seem feeling other than a normal plot twist. There is another form that can take people by surprise and lead you down a rabbit hole of nothingness and deception. While the idea of a red herring has been around for ages, it feels like the idea in film has been around just as long. While misconstrued to be only from noir, mystery or horror films there are plenty others out there to pick some of our favorites from.
