The late Dallas Willard taught that there is no Cosmic Car Wash, meaning that the idea of our souls entering eternity complete, with no need for further development, is a complete fallacy with no foundation in the teachings of the Bible. Of course sin is done away with, but our entrance into eternity, either through death or at the return of Jesus, will see our ongoing development into the full nature of Christ. So, if who we are then is a continuation of who we are now, then who we are now matters. Jesus inaugurated the Kingdom of God and as His followers we are called to partner with Him in the healing of the world, not its destruction. This is the truth that continues to set us free.
