I was watching a documentary on Netflix called "Take Your Pills: Xanax" and some of the statistics they brought up is staggering about anxiety.
The amount of anxiety has spiked since the pandemic and a lot of us are not talking about it. I personally have dealt with anxiety in my life and it's definitely a difficult thing.
Medication can be a great short term thing to help with anxiety. However, the long term damage that these medications can cause it significant. Xanax as an example was made to be a short term and situational medication. The long term effects that are starting to be revealed can be related to memory loss, depression, liver damage, erratic behavior, and significant withdrawals.
I think the more we find the source of the anxiety and work through it naturally the more we can move away from medication and closer to true healing.
The 4 things I have placed in my life that have helped me out a lot are the following:
1 - Less Social Media
2 - Being Honest With Myself & Friends About Having Anxiety
3 - Exercise
4 - Professional Counseling
