John 8 is full of remarkable statements made by the Lord Jesus. In V29, he says that he "always did the things that pleased his Father." Sometimes in the Christian life, we get heavily invested into things that seem to make fruitful Christian living obscure both in what we understand as important and what we actually do. Jesus had a way of simplifying things for us. When he was asked about the greatest commandment, he summarized the whole law as being fulfilled by the person who truly "loves God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, and their neighbor as themselves." In this episode, we consider Jesus' example to give ourselves a "worthy goal" of living each day to please our Heavenly Father.
