Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom. - Daniel 6:3
Oh but there where Haters Family, that could not find any corruption in him he was trustworthy. So what they did was they tried to set a trap for Daniel. They tricked the King into making a royal decree that anyone who prays to any god or human being the next thirty days except to the King would be thrown into the Lions Den.
So King Darius put the decree in writing. Daniel 6:9
…Three times per day Daniel got on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before. - Daniel 6:10
So the Haters go to the king and remind him of the decree and the king says “The decree stand…” - Daniel 6:12
Then the Haters, are like “Hey your boy Daniel is still praying 3 times per day to his god,” the king was a huge fan of Daniel and became distressed about this and what the outcome might look like.
So the Haters are like look this can’t be changed Daniel must be put into the lions den. “So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lion’s den. The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!” - Daniel 6:16
They even rolled a stone over the mouth of the den, the king sealed it with his own signet ring and returned to his palace. He spent the night without eating and no entertainment and could not sleep, no playstation, no chips and beer Family.
At the first light of dawn, the king got up and hurried to the lion’s den. Daniel 6:19 …He called to Daniel in an anguished voice, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions? - Daniel 6:20
