He Paid It All

ransom - a means of deliverance or rescue from punishment for sin, especially the payment of a redemptive fine (46 occurrences in the bible)

“Even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” - Mark 10:45

Only, God doth ransom my soul from the hand of Sheol, For He doth receive me. Selah - Psalms 49:8

The Lord paid our ransom and offers us grace despite our brokenness family here are 6 ways we know it’s true…

  1. Payment of Ransom: The idea of ransom comes from the belief that humanity was in bondage to sin and separated from God. To free us from this captivity, God, in His mercy and love, paid the price for our release. This payment was made through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ, who took on the sins of humanity and offered Himself as the ultimate atoning sacrifice.
  2. Grace in Brokenness: The term "grace" refers to the unmerited favor and love of God, which is freely given to us despite our imperfections and brokenness. It means that God's love is not dependent on our own worthiness or good deeds; rather, it is an expression of His unconditional love and forgiveness.
  3. Christ's Redemption: Through His crucifixion and resurrection, Jesus Christ provided redemption for humanity. This means that He bought us back from the slavery of sin, offering us the opportunity to be reconciled with God and have eternal life.
  4. Bought with a Price: This phrase emphasizes that our salvation was not attained cheaply but at a great cost – the life of Jesus Christ. It underscores the significance and value God places on each individual's life.
  5. Living in Freedom: By accepting the ransom paid by Christ, we are set free from the power of sin and the consequences of separation from God. This newfound freedom allows us to live a transformed life, guided by God's principles and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
  6. Confidence in God's Love: Understanding the depth of God's love for us, as demonstrated through the sacrifice of Christ, gives us confidence in our relationship with Him. We can approach Him with assurance, knowing that we are accepted and cherished as His beloved children.

God's love and mercy, the redemptive work of Christ on the cross, and the hope of living in freedom through faith in Him. The foundation for a relationship with God and a life characterized by love, grace, and purpose.
