Description

Welcome to another episode of Brown People Problems, where your host, Nikita Sehgal, along with her guests chat about what it means to navigate life while being Brown! In this episode I'm chatting with Canadian Certified Counsellor, Jeevan Atwal, about addictions in the Brown community. Listen to us deep dive in to some myths around addiction, misconceptions, neurobiology of it, and more. I bet there's lots in here that you didn't know about!

Jeevan Atwal is a Canadian Certified Counsellor, proud mama, and first-generation Canadian. Jeevan works from a holistic and trauma informed lens, utilizing several different approaches in her therapeutic work including person-centered, mindfulness, inner child work, CBT and most recently EMDR. Jeevan believes that all individuals have the power inside themselves to make the changes they need or desire, but often just need a safe space and a supportive person to guide them along the way. When Jeevan is not in her therapist role she enjoys spending time outdoors, with loved ones, and cooking up a tasty meal. Get in touch with Jeevan: https://www.instagram.com/jeevanatwalcounselling/
