Too many Christians are "Forgiven and Miserable," that is, they have received salvation from sin, but are not living in the state of "soul rest" the Lord wants for us. Like the Israelites who were disqualified from entering the Promised Land (place of rest), they are miserable due to a refusal to surrender everything to God and rest in His ability to work on our behalf.
