This week we are joined by the creator of Otter Reading. Meagan Beam is extremely passionate about teaching literacy and sharing that love and passion with other teachers. She loves teaching using the Orton Gillingham approach and values everything that it stands for. Creating lessons that are prescriptive, explicit, sequential, and multi-sensory in nature. Her tools also directly align with the Science of Reading.
She has an innovative multi-sensory resource that is patent pending. OTTER Tools allow for students to use a multi-sensory approach for literacy. She loves adding technology into the teaching and creating fun multi-sensory tech resources to support students.
She has the Classroom Educator and Associate certifications through Orton Gillingham Academy. I have completed over 100 hours of training in the OG approach. I have taught over 1000 hours using the OG approach in the classroom and over 200 hours in a one-on-one setting.
