Growing up in the Carolina Keisha listened to her grandfather's stories of WW2. When it came to joining the service, she was told " Young girls don't join the military"Keisha had other plans. Joining the Marines, she decided not to tell her parents. Serving for 10 years as a single active-duty parent she explains the challenges of leaving your child in the care of others. After serving her country Keisha continues to advocate for female transitioning service members through the Foundation for Women Warriors.
