"A house divided" will not survive, it cannot stand against the storms of life, to include the spiritual assaults of the enemy. But, a house divided is exactly how we feel when we are wrestling with besetting sins while also truly desiring to live holy lives. What can we do? Jesus makes it clear, we can clean up our act, clean out our closet, but only he can keep the house!
