Depending on who you listen to, or what circles you run in, you may hear things like, "God is not concerned with your happiness, He wants your obedience," which is often translated in our mind as, "Ok, so I can either be happy or holy."
What a terrible false impression to make on the Christian soul! God not only permits your happiness, He promotes it! It is not either or, but both happy and holy, holy and happy, they just go together in the life of God and God's people!
