Not only by the testimony of scripture, but because of our experience of living in this world in this hour, we can understand that resilience of soul must be sought after and in order to have it we need to plan for it. Paul's prayer for the Ephesian church is a great place to start, he is, essentially, asking God to give them resilience (Ephesians 3:14-19). So, we begin there, with our quest to pursue wholeheartedness and live from the depths of our being with God, rather than in the shallows of the world.
