Veronica and Amanda have been practicing yoga for several years and they feel the benefits of our practice. But, they want to hear from a professional if yoga can really help pain and inflammation. This week, Amanda and Veronica are joined by Amanda’s long time friend Jessica Ryan (and her dog), a registered massage therapist and 200 hour certified yoga instructor. They three talk everything yoga and massage for chronic illness and pain, digestion, and the age old question: heat or ice for pain? Jess explains the physiology behind deep diaphragmatic breathing for pain and stress, and how to find some pain relief at home with massage. The three also discuss when to know when a stretch is maybe too far, and how to know when this is happening to you, either at home, the gym, or in the hot yoga studio.
