Description

This week, Amanda and Veronica are joined by Ashley and Erline of the Period Poverty Initiative. High school seniors from Orlando Florida, they noticed issues with the lack of menstrual products in their school bathrooms, and decided to work to change it. Ashley and Erline talk about starting PPI, the inspiration behind PPI’s activism, and how period poverty has impacted their communities. The group chat about the challenges faced in advocating for menstrual equity, the intersectionality of period poverty with other social issues, and the importance of eradicating period stigma. Veronica and Amanda play a game with Ashley and Erline, and ask them about their goals and aspirations in period activism both as youth, but as they grow up.
