“It is never too late to be what you might have been” - George Eliot
We have been given a shitty formula for how to do life. A formula that has left the mass majority of us in student loan debt; feeling stuck in jobs and careers that no longer feel right; and living with a dissatisfaction we are too ashamed to admit is there, because “we should be grateful; we have good lives”.
But if this formula was truly the secret to a great life, shouldn’t we feel fulfilled by it? Shouldn’t we die with peace and contentment of a life well lived? Shouldn’t mom burnout be the exception instead of the norm? If we’re succeeding by our culture’s terms, then why does it feel so much like failing?
I said ‘F*ck it’ to our shitty formula & finally feel fully alive. If you are feeling stuck or dissatisfied or like there should be something more to life, I’m here to tell you: you are not crazy; we just were taught a shitty formula. But the good news is we can ditch the formula & start living whenever we want to. It doesn’t matter if you are 18, 45, or 80–it is never too late.
