In today's episode of Bible Roulette, we land on Luke 23. This chapter recounts the final moments of Jesus. As we discuss this chapter, we focus on the profound role reversal that takes place while Jesus endures the "judgment" of multiple leaders of men. There truly aren't words to describe how daring and wicked the generations of men have evolved to get to this point... the point where they sit holiness on the judgment seat and they wave their unrighteous gavels around in order to bring to a full conclusion the wickedness and sin that they needed to be delivered from. The sobering thought is that this has been all of us at some point. How divinely clever is this scene, certainly established before the foundations of the world, as the very purpose of Jesus is to endure our punishment so that we can become the righteousness of God through believing in His sacrifice and His lordship. It has been the habit of sinful men to boast in their version of morality and try to shame God for His ways and His decrees since the beginning.
How truly merciful and gracious is God towards us that He would give us a chance to be forgiven for such a transgression.Thank you for listening!
