Scott Allen leads today's lesson from Acts 2:5-16, 36-41. 50 days prior all Jews had gathered for Passover. Outside the city gates 3 thieves were crucified, but unknown to many, one of them was the Lamb of God. Now at the next required religious feast of Pentecost, the crowds once again flowed into Jerusalem. Soon an unexpected and miraculous occurrence made the crowds realize this was no ordinary feast day. God's Spirit was at work, and Peter took opportunity to share the gospel with thousands of people. Although guilt and wrath and judgment hovered over a people that had rejected Jesus, hope and forgiveness was offered to the heartbroken as news of a risen Savior was proclaimed.
