Description

Scott Allen leads today's lesson from Genesis 32:21-32. Returning home more than two decades after stealing his brother Esau's blessing, Jacob was alarmed to hear that Esau was approaching with a company of 400 men. Seemingly defenseless, Jacob sent an array of gifts to appease Esau and then divided his family into two camps and send them across the Jabbok River. Jacob was alone, except for a mysterious stranger. Jacob had been preparing to meet his brother Jacob, but it was an encounter with God he needed most as Jacob learned about seeking God's favor.
