hi everyone!! today is a very late episode, but i wanted to share an essay about submission, womanhood, and what that has truly meant to me, as well as the process of understanding it.
this essay is not about the kind of submission where someone feels safe enough to let their partner have “control” over certain things. i see that as a natural, even beautiful, part of a relationship where both partners are authentic, respectful, considerate, and consistent. instead, this essay focuses on the belief that being submissive is a necessary and fundamental part of being a woman. this is the kind of submission enforced through fear, abuse, manipulation, or toxic gender roles rather than personal choice rooted in safety, trust, and mutual respect.
