Disney's first foray into the pirate genre even before the original Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland, it's one of the great adventure stories. A movie which took the swashbuckling fun of Errol Flynn and Douglas Fairbanks movies and added the definitive image of the pirate in popular culture...at least until 50 years later when Jack Sparrow would have something to say about that!!
