Cecily Stewart Habimana is founder and owner of Simply Cecily, a contemporary women’s clothing line that fuses African fabrics with an American aesthetic. The line is known for its use of rich vibrant fabrics and amazing silhouettes, representing a lot of women today who want to express their true selves through their clothing. Simply Cecily has been featured in several publications and fashion blogs, including Madame Noire, The Examiner and Washington Express, and has appeared at fashion events throughout in Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD and Richmond, VA as well as internationally in Prague. In 2014, Cecily, together with her business partner Tisha Thorne, decided to spread their love of sewing by hosting Sip and Sew DC throughout Maryland and D.C. This led to the opening of Sew Creative Lounge in 2017 where sewing and various art classes are offered. Sew Creative Lounge is a place to discover the art and joy of sewing in a fun, social environment.
