As you go through your day, what holds your mind captive? Have you made your list, checked it twice, and come up missing a gift or two? Or are you busy planning the menu and cleaning the house? For some, you are missing loved ones, and your thoughts are filled with grief as you move step-by-step to a holiday without them.
Whatever holds your thoughts captive ultimately holds you captive.
This time of year, I often ponder what Mary was thinking as she journeyed to giving birth to Jesus, holding her Savior in her arms, and the things she observed along the way. From the kicking baby to pattering feet, from shepherds and wise men to prophetic words. Scripture tells us that her heart became a treasure trove of wonderment of God.
