When you open your Bible to the book of Genesis it begins with “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). However, a 1991 Gallup poll found that some 90% of American’s believed that God created the world in some manner. However, by 2019 that number fell to 40% and continues to fall today.
As we read through the book of Genesis we see intent, order, and purpose within each day of creation. God planned each step, there was nothing random or haphazard about creation.
The truth is, if we don’t believe that God created absolutely everything, but himself, with no exception, then we cannot believe that God is sovereign. If God is not sovereign, then we cannot trust Him with our lives.
