Description

It's finally here! The first episode of our Hometown Heroes segment, dedicated to showcasing and discovering people involved in football, who hail from our hometown Ilford and our home borough of Redbridge.

Our first guest for this episode is Asser Lutu, currently the London Academy Scout for Norwich, who has also worked as an analyst at Birmingham City, Dagenham and Redbridge, and Grimsby Town. Asser has also had stints working as a first-team performance analyst in Qatar and Guyana.

The First Half of this episode goes through Asser's footballing experiences growing up in Ilford (3:04), his time playing at Wycombe U19's Development scheme (12:15), his debilitating injury that effectively ended his playing career and how he subsequently managed to land an analyst role at Dagenham and Redbridge (20:44)

He also recalls a story of how a striker that he had played against at 16 later found himself at Dagenham and Redbridge and has now gone to play in the Premier League for several years. (32:52)

We really hope you all enjoy this episode.

The Second Half of this episode will be out soon!
