While educational technology can be a vital tool in all classrooms and schools, this month we wanted to focus on innovative ways it is being used in the Arts. When we talk about the Arts, we are encompassing everything from Music and Visual Art to Dance, Theater and Media Arts. Even though they all fall under the same umbrella of The Arts, each area is unique in content and delivery. In this episode we'll be focusing our lens on Music and in future episodes we will turn our attention to other branches of the visual and performing arts. Come join Tracy and Joshua as they speak with Rob Westerberg, the Choral Director at York High School and Rose Skilling who teaches General Music, Band and Jazz Band at Gorham Middle School.
As the team started planning for this month’s theme, we realized quickly that the depth of Arts instruction meant that there were far too many amazing examples of educators using innovative strategies for just one month. That means Ed Tech in the Arts will be coming back for another month later in season two, but that means we need your help! Whether you know a great educator doing something awesome in the Arts, or just are curious how the team can support you and your school - please contact the MLTI (Maine Learning Technology Initiative) and LTT (Learning Through Technology) teams at the Maine Department of Education by emailing us at DOE-LTT@maine.gov.
