This week I respond to a wonderful episode on Jason Flatt's Holy Star Wars, where he brought on Beltway Banthas' Stephen Kent to talk about Christ, Anakin and the theme of Redemption in Star Wars and Christianity. I offer my own take, focusing on the cosmic or universal dimension of Anakin's role as Redeemer , but conceding to Stephen that we don't yet know if he has been redeemed. I also break out fancy words like "soteriology," "justification" and "sanctification," a month away from the 500th Anniversary of Luther''s spark that led to the Protestant Reformation.
I also briefly touch on Gaiman's Eternals , Star Trek Discovery (briefly!) and the upcoming short-story anthology, From a Certain Point of View.
