"I'll never fold... I always call"
My good friend Tim aka Thomas aka Buddy Guy used to sing that as he placed his chips in the pot. You would be sweating bullets as you barrelled a 3 street bluff or even bombing it in with what you thought was the best of it, but he'd call behind gleefully singing his tune. It was one of the most beautiful and poetic things to witness at a poker table, but infuriating to go up against.
My buddy guy passed away last week and when I learned of his passing I knew my life would never be the same. He was someone I looked up to as a big brother figure, I admired and respected him, I sought his validation and respect... I love him very much.
Tim was a happy-go-lucky chap, incredibly charismatic and always wise. His support of me was unwavering, he was always there when I needed someone to talk to or bounce ideas off of, I was very lucky to call him my friend.
I will never forget his bravery, his resilience, his zest for life, and the outgoing characteristics that made him incredibly warm and approachable to everyone he met. I will miss him very much.
RIP Tommy, I love ya buddy <3
