In 1974 at the age of 15, Bob brought his camera to a New Riders of the Purple Sage show at the Academy of Music in NYC and never looked back.
As Senior Photographer for Relix magazine from the 1970s to 1990s, and later, Chief Package Designer for Grateful Dead Productions, Bob has enjoyed unique access to the Grateful Dead world.
He has photographed thousands of concerts and countless musical artists with emphasis in the punk world, the blues genre and continues to document the jam band scene in clubs and arenas across the USA and Europe. His photos have been featured in many books and publications including Rolling Stone, Time Magazine, Guitar Player, and Relix as well as movies such as Long Strange Trip and The Other One. His images also grace many music CD and DVD packages.
His fifth coffee-table book, Just Phil will be released May 2024.
