In this episode, I speak with Kenyata. She talks to me about not being entirely sure if she wanted to even be a mother, but after trusting in herself and doing the personal work, Kenyata listened to her inner voice, and followed where her heart wanted to lead her — Merida, Mexico.
Kenyata left the United States and travelled solo at five months pregnant to find a new home for herself and her child. Kenyata had a sense of intuition that everything would work out in her favour even if she was travelling alone for the first time out of country.
Once she settled into her home in Mexico, Kenyata was able to focus and relax into this pregnancy and then was able to start looking for a Midwife to support her during her birth experience. She found a Melanated Woman’s group in her local area, got connected to a Traditional Midwife named, Sumi and was able to have a supported and easeful birth experience surrounded by people that trusted her to do what her body was designed for.
