Today, I’m speaking with Claire. She talks about the struggles she faced with breastfeeding after her first baby and even going in to seek medical care, which resulted in a D+C after a lengthy time in hospital.
With her second baby, Claire speaks of her choice to take this mothering journey solo. After a few attempts of using donor sperm from a man found via Facebook, Claire wasn’t getting pregnant. A dear friend of hers offered to assist her and on the first insemination attempt her daughter was conceived.
Claire also speaks to the experience of seeking assistance in the hospital nearing 39 weeks with this second babe and getting admitted for an induction. Claire then checks herself out of the hospital after signing an AMA (against medical authority) and then birthed her baby 1 week later in her freedom at home.
Claire has 2 very incredible stories to share with us today about her decisions to birth both of her children free, while still engaging in the medical system at the times she felt necessary, but not allowing them to leave her powerless.
