In this episode, I speak with Davana. She has had 2 births outside of the medical system following a very unnecessary cesarean with her first child.
Davana’s fist birth ended abruptly with an unnecessary cesarean for a baby, that during a non-stress test showed no heart tones. Without further information to back this finding, Davana was fully put under anesthesia to have her baby cut from her body. She later came to the realization that the information given to her was false, as it happens for most, if not all “emergency” cesareans.
Because Davana never had the chance to even feel what the start of her birth process could feel like, she chose to take her power back the second time she got pregnant. Davana had a wild pregnancy — not seeking any medical care and then went on to birth free of the medical system during a huge snow storm that hit Texas a few years back.
Her third pregnancy was wild as well, but nearing the end of this pregnancy, Davana was hit with some news that could have completely rocked her to her core. She does mention that it did a little bit and there was some processing and grieving to do, but Davana choose to hold onto the idea of loving kindness over misery for the situation that she was thrust into and birthed this third baby free of the medical system too.
