In this episode, I speak with Ashley, a mother of 2 children who started her mothering journey at 20 years of age. Recently married and finding out that she was pregnant, Ashley was catapulted onto a deep spiritual journey and a path of awakening that opened her up to the awareness of her ancestral burdens and curses surrounding motherhood.
Ashley made the choice to birth her first baby in a birth centre in America as she was not aligned to the idea of birthing in a hospital. During her pregnancy, Ashley was facing family shadows, external fear and a lack of belief, but she overcame it all when she listened to her intuitive voice and was held by spirit to trust herself during the emergence of her baby and to not rely on the medical professionals that were there to support her. Ashley held onto the strength and assurance that she was able to bring her baby into the world when she was ready to do so, thus leaving her with a beautiful initiation into her motherhood journey.
By the time Ashley was pregnant with her second baby, 4 years later, she and her husband had made the decision to leave America and move to Jamaica. More shadow work, initiations, and trust in her own innate wisdoms led Ashley on a beautiful journey to freebirthing her son, which deepened her Matriarchal connection of power and reclaiming her sovereignty.
