In this episode, I speak with Kyrah. She tells me of her journey into birthing her first child without having a medical professional present.
While working in a birth centre while pregnant, Kyrah was seeing all the 1st time mothers being transferred to hospital and that started to get her wheels turning for finding a different way to birth.
Kyrah decided to birth at home and tried to hire a Traditional Midwife, but with no response, ended up hiring a medical midwife to attend to her.
Kyrah and the Medical Midwife didn’t really vibe, but the tension that Kyrah felt acted as a way for her to trust herself and stand more in her power to birth her baby the way she wanted.
Listen to this journey of Kyrah believing that she could in fact have a pleasurable birth experience even after hearing her Medical Midwife say that that’s not possible for any woman and also not believing Kyrah when she expressed where she was during her birthing process.
