In this episode I’m talking with Settareh. She speaks to the births of her two son’s.
Her first birth was managed by Medical Midwives and during that pregnancy, Settareh struggled with HG (hyperemesis gravidarum) — feeling nausea and throwing up multiple times a day.
Instead of having a natural and undisturbed start to this brith, Setta was directed by her Medical Midwives to use at home induction methods to start her process. The whole birthing experience was filled with chaos, fear and being berated which ultimately left Setta with trauma that she was continually gaslit for when trying to express her feelings.
In the Summer of 2020, after a transformative experience with 5MEO-DMT, Settareh was filled with peace and gratitude for everything that she had experienced. With asking to carry the experience of ceremony into her daily life, Setta soon found out that she was pregnant with her second son.

Setta was attended to by a Medical Midwife in this second, but she was able to make her request absolutely clear of what she wanted and what she didn’t want so that she would be attended to by her birth support in the way that she wanted instead of bringing this baby into the world with only herself and her 5 year old son.
