Onnie Michalsky is the founder of Moms Without Capes. Onnie is an expert in understanding and supporting the challenges of being a mom. In this episode we talk about the importance of loving yourself, taking time for yourself, and recognizing that if your cup is empty, you have very little to give to others.
Onnie is passionate about helping moms learn how to fill their cups up so that they can be better at giving to others. She's a great resource for mothers who are feeling the daily pressures of impossible expectations so they can feel more alive.
As the mother of six children ranging from ages 9 to 23 (including twins), she had a hard time dealing with the guilt of not being enough. A few years ago she started Moms Without Capes to help mothers to take care of themselves and prioritize their own needs.
She shares the story of how hard it was for her to accept help and what led her to finally accept help after having her first 4 kids.
This episode is all about preventing burnout in motherhood and giving you some tools to start prioritizing yourself whether you’re a new mom or a seasoned one.

“Our kids need us to be us. Not that definition of good mom or not that definition of the perfect mom.”
