International Women´s Day 2023
- - A fundamental observation of the importance of diversity
- - Discounting the brilliance of half of the global population (give or take) is not sustainable
- - A story from Hack Holyoke 1…
Our Ethos
- - Inclusivity, Diversity, and Accessibility
- - Our name change is part of our effort to be more Inclusive
- - Our effort to reach out to and to appeal to a Diverse population of Local Innovators is always ongoing
- - Accessibility is always important and is applied most broadly across all of our efforts
Why not Equity?
- - Equality vs Equity
- + Words and definitions… [IWD Difference between Equity and Equality](https://www.internationalwomensday.com/EquityEquality)
- + In a more generic sense, Opportunity vs Outcome, this is still a much longer and more nuanced discussion, not for today!
- - This is a very large undertaking by any measure and we are a small organization
- - If we consider Equal Access to be a form of Equity, and that our Innovation will often take a tangible or generally usable form, then accessibility really is an implementation view of Equity.
Innovation by and for all
- - Historically, innovation has been a matter of necessity, and that is the so-called Mother of Invention.
- - Too often there is a wall constructed, or maybe a glass ceiling installed, and it is often in desparate times when these barriers are removed, or lowered, and then slowly put back.
- - We will continue to keep any perceived barriers out of the way and lower any real barriers to zero in our efforts. When anyone who wants to innovate is enabled and encouraged to do so, everybody wins!
