Today we're very excited to have on Buffalo-based illustrator + owner of Molly Illustration, Molly Beres!
Her work is fun and cheeky with vintage and nostalgic twists from characters, flowers, and even food! From her 'More Women in Charge,' 'wired but still tired,' and 'Didn't Hydrate' - her work has become well-known in the local business community and beyond.
We're talking about how she got her start in graphic design and illustration in college and beyond. It wasn't until one day that she made the jump to sell her own work and open an Etsy shop on a whim! Molly's process has evolved into a creative vessel from the silly moments of her everyday life. One of her main inspirations come from cartoons and mid-century television, including one small commercial she saw years ago of characters headed to the kitchen. In our chat, we even get into the inspiration behind specific pieces - "We Say 'In A Pickle' Like It's A Bad Thing" and "Smiles for Miles." The toughest question of all is even asked - what her all-time favorite piece is!
But, what does the business side of an illustrator look like for Molly? Tune in to find out!
